Important note on navigation:
Most navigation systems do not recognise "Dorf Tirol". Enter "Tirol" or "Tirolo" as the location.

All those coming from the west are sent by the sat nav via the Gnaidweg to Dorf Tirol. This is a very narrow road with no through traffic!
Instead, cross the town and follow the signs to "Dorf Tirol" or in the direction of "Jaufenpass".

By car

North

Brenner motorway (A22) - exit Bozen Süd - MeBo (SS38) - exit Meran Süd onto SP117 - continue right onto SP8 - then at the roundabout turn left onto Schennastraße until you reach Brunnenplatz - turn right onto Vergilstraße and via Georgenstraße onto SS44 until you reach the large crossroads and turn left towards Dorf Tirol - follow the road until you reach Hotel Gartner and before that turn left onto Segenbühelweg - this will lead you directly to us.
Brenner motorway (A22) - exit Sterzing - via Jaufenpass* and Jaufenstraße (SS44) through the Passeiertal valley until shortly before Merano - turn right to Dorf Tirol - follow the road until you reach Hotel Gartner and turn left onto Segenbühelweg - this will lead you directly to us.
Ötztal - via Timmelsjoch (186)* and Jaufenstraße (SS44) through the Passeier Valley until shortly before Meran - turn off to Dorf Tirol - follow the road until you reach Hotel Gartner and turn left onto the Segenbühelweg - this will lead you directly to us.

*Pass roads only passable in summer (winter closure)

West

Over the Reschenpass in the direction of Meran - take the exit Meran Zentrum or Meran Untermais and cross the town in the direction of Passeiertal - once you have reached the SS44, drive to the large crossroads and turn left towards Dorf Tirol - follow the road until you reach the Hotel Gartner and turn left before it onto the Segenbühelweg - this will lead you directly to us.

East

Lienz - Innichen - Pustertal (state road 49) - Brenner motorway (A22) - exit Bozen Süd - MeBo (SS38) - exit Meran Süd onto SP117 - continue right onto SP8 - then turn left at the roundabout onto Schennastraße until you reach Brunnenplatz - turn right onto Vergilstraße and via Georgenstraße onto SS44 until you reach the large junction and turn left towards Dorf Tirol - follow the road until you reach Hotel Gartner and turn left onto Segenbühelweg - this will lead you directly to us.

By public transport

Train
The train connection works very well from the south (Italy) as well as from Austria or Germany and you arrive comfortably and stress-free at Merano train station. From there you can take a taxi (€ 9-12) or the bus (221) to Dorf Tirol.

Taxi
Our taxi driver Sabine will be happy to pick you up at the railway station or airport. Just let us know your train number, arrival time and carriage number and we will organise everything else for you. Price from Merano railway station € 16, from Bolzano railway station or Bolzano airport € 60.

Bus
There is a direct bus connection from Munich (ZOB) to Merano main station several times a day. All current prices and timetables for travelling in comfort by long-distance bus are available directly from the provider.

You can find all current South Tyrolean bus timetables here. The bus service number 221 from Merano to Tirolo runs every 30 minutes. It is recommended to avoid the main commuter times. From the bus stop in Dorf Tirol (Tirol, Schwimmbad stop) it is about a 15-minute walk to the hotel. Alternatively, bus no. 222 stops right in front of the hotel.
